Still PG-18 : Jason Talks About His Raw Food Diet

Article courtesy of Ecorazzi.com, 4 June 2008

Jason Mraz Raves About His Raw Foods Diet, Rocks The Speedo

Mr. A to Z, otherwise known as singer Jason Mraz, just posted some pics and a healthy dose of raw foods praise on his MySpace page. Citing the need for an extreme amount of energy while on tour, the 30-year-old delves into the whys and hows of his diet — all the while posting pics, including one of him in a speedo holding a knife, and looking like Hugh Grant in the morning. Here’s what J had to say:

On his healthy green machine: “I also bring along a Vita-Mix blender, a powerhouse of a tool. I start each day with a crazy ass Superfood Smoothie that most people refer to as, the Green Sludge.”

On what’s in his fridge: “Super Greens, Hemp Protein, Goji Juice, Coconut Water, Flax Seed Oil, My own homemade cashew milk, Raw Cacao, Bee pollen, sometimes a banana, a little crushed ice, toad knuckles, agave nectar, Stevia, and/or Natural Vaginal Juices to sweeten to your liking. All this stuff is checked at the airport in what I like to call my “Movable Feast,” a handy box that puts the kit in kitchen. I update the staples when I need to, about every two weeks. But the salad fixins are refreshed daily.”

On eating healthy: “If it seems costly it’s not. I think about the cost my body pays for eating processed food and immediately I’m happy about the investment of time finding these natural alternatives. ALTERNATIVES? How did we let nature’s supply take a back seat and become so hard to reach? You are what you eat. And since April 1st, this has been an experiment worthy of the effort. My trusty sidekick, Toca Rivera, has also been eating this way, relying only on raw and natural foods. We started this diet when Toca discovered he was Diabetic. But now, thanks to eating REAL food, his numbers are closer to normal and soon his blood tests will not reveal any sign of Diabetes.”

On maintaining the super-green diet: “I will likely keep this up for a long time. I don’t crave any other foods anymore. Anything processed just doesn’t seem real. I may as well eat cardboard if it has the same nutritional value. And I’ll keep getting creative with food. That’s the best part. I’m starting to see myself in the meals I make. And I have no trouble spending hours in the grocery store reading the labels and talking with other customers. Plus, hot girls fresh from yoga hang out in natural food stores. And I suspect they’re horny. More and more people are getting excited about health and we’re all tired of being offered cheap replicas of food. We want change and we believe we CAN have it.”

Count on Jason to be the curly fry in a box of regulars :)

"And I'm So Damn Tired.."

I fell asleep to Jason's music last night.

PG18-Parental Guidance Needed

Jason and his Taylor T5. Only.

This picture is from a magazine from years ago. In the past year he's been looking very trim and buff, the result of his gym workouts, yoga and raw food diet thingy that's he's been on for some time I guess. The cute little boy has grown out from his cute puppy look and boy, does the man look good or what. The scruffy look also works, sometimes :). Ah, when you're cool you're cool.

I wanted to have this post about his guitars actually. He usually plays the Taylor 614ce and 914ce. I am sure he has his ukeleles as well.

Oh this pic is distracting so this post ends here :) la la la..

Though Your Mind Is Rather Reckless

Or Would It Take A Half a Pound To Roll A Joint for You?

I might just have yet another aptly-timed inspiration from Jason.

His latest post opens with this quote from Bertrand Russell:

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

I can't agree more. Enjoy then!

"Would It Take a Baker's Dozen to Get My Point to You..?"

My happy happy feet song for the weekend from JM, No Stopping Us.

Am loving this song, makes two-left-feet-me feel like like dancing. Now that would be a scary sight! ;P

"Can I get an amen?"

"Can I really hear an amen?"

"Can I get just one more amen now?"

What else I can get now, what would you ask for...

"Can I get some LOOOVE?"

Wheee!

JM and Lips

I laugh everytime I watch this clip. The man and his xbox360 :)

He's got a great knack for comedy. Real men don't care if they make a fool out of themselves once in a while. Haha.

And, funny guys are good; they make you laugh :)

"I'm A Curbside Prophet, Got My Hand in My Pocket, Just Waiting for My Rocket to Come.."

"Hey hey hey hey.. !
Something's different in my world today..
They changed my traffic signs..
to a brighter yelloooow.."

"Baby That's A Case of My Wishful Thinking, You Know Nothing Of...."

Hey.

Missed out posting yesterday.

My sister told me last night she saw a JM tee bundled together with JM's WSWDWST Ltd Ed at Speedy. RM40. Shrigley, white on black.

Should I get it? Maybe I check it out first before making that dent in my purse.

Messy feelings today, need an uplifting tune from Jason.

Like, right now.

Sing Along with JM : I'll Do Anything

Am in the mood for this upbeat, happy, reggae-fied song from JM for this Monday morning.

"Well this one's going out to the lovers, the dreamers and me .." :P

Data Transfer - Complete!

I finally have JM on my phone!

Music in the palm of my hand :) after 2 days of attempting.

Today I saw a hilarious JM TV adv for Real Magic TV, on Youtube. Not a real adv, just a silly one they put together. Ha ha.

I hope I can find the 'soft rock' video.

Still engrossed with 1000 Things. First song I played from my phone just now :)

"It's Laundryyyy Dayyy!"

Gah. I missed posting here yesterday.

Today I'll attempt to copy my JM folder for Superfriend.

I was not able to copy the album to my phone though. It took too long, must re try again over the weekend.

Me the Dramatica Mujer

Something not so usual happened today.

I didn't get to have my daily dose of Jason until 1630 hrs just now.

*what? my ears are complaining now; where's Jason today?*

Why? I don't really know, though a few times I had my earphones already in my ears I had to get up and do something and forgot to put it on when I came back.

I usually have Jason playing on repeat loop from 9 am onwards.

Anyway, that's okay. I am plugged in to TNA now.

Seriously liking Dramatic Mujer. Jason singing Spanish is so sexay.

Oh. Did I mention I thought of and tinkered with my JM 'project' yesterday? No?

Probably got too excited with the mild 'heart attack' induced by the vision of a double whammy of Jason and Eddie.

Anyway, I will only reveal if it materialises. Till then, it's TOP SECRET :)!

HOT BREAKING NEWS - Jason and Eddie in San Francisco!

Oh my God. This following announcement from Jason Mraz.com almost gave me a heart attack.
------------------------------------------
Happy Monday everyone! We have more new shows to announce which means more fun to be had!

Just announced today - Jason will be performing alongside Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, The Beastie Boys, and more at the
Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco! The three-day event will be held in majestic Golden Gate Park Friday August 28th through Sunday August 30th, 2009. Tickets for the festival go on sale this Sunday April 19th at 10am viaSFOutsideLands.com.

-----------------
Jason AND Pearl Jam!

In ONE Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is beyond coolness. I thought Jason and James Morrison in Vegas is already giddying enough.

And now PEARL JAM?? I think I know now what some people mean by 'I just died and gone to heaven'.

If only I can be there :(.

My attachment to Youtube will be even closer, more than ever.

Off to calm down the palpitations now. *exhale*

Sing Along with JM : Mr Curiosity

A lovely song. Not as bleak as Plane. Again, a simple stark black and white video.

Apparently Jason sang the soprano part as well. I thought he had a guest singer or something. However, some fans have seen him perform it live so that's true then.

My list of favourite Jason songs is becoming harder and harder to compile, so I decided I won't have one. I love all his songs, and various versions of each song.

Sometimes it's nice to not make a choice :).

Sing Along with JM : Plane

He sounds so achingly clear and crisp - this man wears his emotions in his voice. The high notes at the end are fantastic.

This simple 'video' with the black background is excellent to showcase just Jason's voice, and to not get distracted by his images.

And I like very much the tinkling piano bits and the part where he goes 'damn, you' :)

In *Love* with the Geek in the Pink - Live in KL - Singing, Dancing and Stealing Things

(Original post dated 4/3/2009)

Ooooh, look at him! Awesomeness!

I've said it before now I'll say it again..

I love love love Jason with the white, hot heat of 10,000 suns!!!

On 2nd November 2008 (I checked my post :p), I had wished and wanted to see him live, and now I have. To say that I am hugely grateful is a gross understatement.

What an amazing experience! I'm not equating it with a divine experience (divine intervention?) or anything like that (not that I know how that feels like) but for me Jason's concert tonight came close to it.

I am out of words to describe this feeling even hours after the concert has ended.

Elated; exhilirated; elevated, rotated; celebrated.

My thoughts on it are still incoherent and jumbled up in a good sense. Hard for me to believe I now have the honour of being in the audience with Jason performing LIVE. I mean, look at this way, his voice and music reaching your ears live, pure, whole and direct. There's nothing between you and him. You can close your eyes and go as far as imagining that he is singing this for you and only you.

When he sang my favourite song, A Beautiful Mess, and my first Jason song which always has a special place in my heart, You and I Both; I just wanted to cry for no particular reason other than because it was simply beautiful and pure. And listening to him singing If It Kills Me pretty much made me choke up and just feel stunned. Yupp, it just kills me. And Sleeping to Dream...ahh...

An extremely talented lovely man..

I can go on and on and probably still be unable to say anything definitive. Am I making any sense? I don't know; it's very late and I don't think I'll be able to sleep as yet.

Changed into this tee for the later half...nice biceps :)
(*all pics courtesy of junkonline)

He is truly a beautiful soul. I say, God put him here on earth and gave him all these amazing talents and a big heart to help save souls like mine with his songs, yes? Of course.

Oh, I'd marry him in a heartbeat. The only answer is yes, yes, yes to my lovely geek in the pink. Don't and won't mind the beard at all, my dear :P

"Sleeping to dream about you ..."

What did he steal ? This lil' heart.

Yes, Something Like That

The Object of My Besottedness

(*re-published from my other blog, in my effort to compile all my Jason-related musings)

Hey, Monday.

I finally managed to upload the very few pics taken during my Jason's concert :). Met dear Acat at Kino and headed towards the stadium, arriving in good time I'd say.

With Ati my mate at uni, fellow Jason fanatic and Marmite fan too! Thanks to Ati (and Din who's in the white tee not looking at the camera) we got our great tickets! We last met after graduation at Lancs way back in 1995. Gawd, yes it was that long ago.

Acat and Raja Fakran a.k.a. Lanyau and his brown-shirt friend.
What a coincidence; our tickets were on the same row.

View from our seats - first seated row after the rockzone - as the concert was just about to start. Lights went up and music went on.. and can you imagine my heartbeat then?

Another shaky attempt - too much excitement my limited pics didn't turn out great. Oh well. It's all immortalised up here *head* and in here *heart* :)

Can you see him?

This was during the later half. Jason was throwing stuff to the crowd. This is a good time to be in the Pitt or Rockzone..

This must be during one of the slow numbers, either If It Kills Me or A Beautiful Mess. Other times the crowd was just jumpin'.

My ticket for the night. So worth it. A-M1-A-08. 208.
I like the 'A's and '8's.

After the concert we knew it would take some time for the traffic to subside hence we sat at the kerbside (curbside - US?) just outside the exit of parking lot; ..... singing? More like, kerbside singers.. haha. Me I was still soaking in the whole amazing experience of seeing Jason live. I thought the horns section was bloody fantastic especially during Butterfly. Heck, the whole concert was superbloodyfreakingabsolutelycrazy fantastic.

And of course, in good company :). Like-minded, fine, classy, beautiful people with good taste in music ;)

Supper was had at this place called Pelita (Nasi Kandar Pelita?) somewhere near KLCC. Called it a night soon after, then when I got back to Paradiso I was un-sleepy. Took a quick shower and started writing while listening to my Jason EP. And how quick, searching YouTube there was already a few videos uploaded of the concert.

I am besotted and will remain so.

"Well, you know that fortune favours the brave,
let me get paid while I make you breakfast"

Anytime, anytime.

Imaginary Letter to Jason

(*re-published from my other blog, when I stumbled upon Jason's blog for the first time)

My dearest Jason,

Well, who would've thought our blogs look very very similar.

Same layout? Black background, Trebuchet ..

Trying very hard not to feel giddy with excitement. Where have I been all this while that I have not discovered your blog..outerspace? This stumps me. Unbelievable, isn't it?

One thing is sure now.

I know where to get my daily doses of you.

with much love,
aud

The Music, Magic and Make Peace Tour

This tour took place March-April last year across the USA. The concert at Highline Ballroom, NYC is available on DVD, bundled in the WSWDWST Limited Edition. Which I got for myself (and Superfriend) after Jason's concert in KL last month.

Withdrawal symptoms after a month? Gawd. I am sad, ain't I? I wonder if he'll be at Singfest this year. His schedule does look very packed for the next few months. And one can only drool about the special midnight concert in Las Vegas this coming May 9th (one month from now!), featuring James Morrison. That, of course, is already sold out. Awesomely, deliciously droolworthy concert indeed.

This is the closest to a concert that I can get at this moment. Gonna watch the DVD until I get sick of it.

As if that is ever going to happen :)

You and I Both

I first got to know Jason through You and I Both many many years ago. Saw him on TV (MTV?) and I thought : very cool song, funny video (bank "heist", in his very 70's light blue suit), what a cute guy.

The verse -

And it's okay if you have to go away
Oh just remember the telephone works both ways
And if I never ever hear them ring
If nothing else I'll think the bells inside
Have finally found you someone else and that's okay
Cause I'll remember everything you sang

- was stuck to and played in my head like a broken record.

Later, came The Remedy. In 2005, from his second album, Geek in the Pink and Wordplay.

They didn't even sell his album here locally then. Little did I know that he had other fantastic songs on the 2 albums. And that he toured extensively, performing live with the band; without; and sometimes with only Toca. These I discovered much later through Youtube and various sites discussing the man and his music.

I'm Yours introduced Jason to the rest of the world last year, and the rest, as the saying goes, is history. He should've gotten that Grammy instead of Mayer.

Live in EBS Space, Korea, accompanied by Toca. Circa July 2006 (?). Wish they have this performance as a live album.

So, this song holds a special place in my archive. Still loving it to this date.

A Beautiful Mess

This is one of Jason's songs that I listen to the most. Two of my favourite videos.

Solo. Live at Mix 106.5 Showcase, San Jose, April 2008.

Live at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Dec 2008. With orchestra. Jason apparently was rather unwell that evening.

I love the melody, lyrics, everything and I'd like to think of this as my song.

I think it describes me sometimes. Biased, with insecurities and always submerged in contradictions.

Haha, yes I can perasan all I want here :P

In the Beginning..

Pic courtesy of JJ Hitz. Ean and JJ, with the lovely man in flesh.
Hey :)

This blog is dedicated to everything and anything Jason.

Mraz - that is.

Of course.

So my other blog can be a little bit less-indicative of an obsession-fixation with the Geek :)

love, love, love,
