She Said Yes. To The Man.

This just in.

Here I am waking up from a short nap on Christmas Eve.

And along comes Twitter news from Jason that :-

SHE SAID YES.

Woooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! I would LOVE to know how he proposed to Tristan! At the same time I got teary-eyed because Jason will be a taken man and so not available; boohoo!

Anyway, truthfully I am very happy that J and T are finally getting their happy ending after all these years.

Congratulations you two!

Jason - I love love love you still!

Later On..(later on!)

It's Christmas next weekend!!

*happy dance jiggity jig*

So, of course, my favourite thing to listen to will be our man's rendition of Winter Wonderland which I am sure all of you know and can never get enough of at this time of year.

Love his woolly hat and gloves here.

Let's all get warm and cuddly with J, as we dream and conspire by the fire :)

I'm In The Mood for This Dude.

This song should have 480, 259,678 views on Youtube and counting.

I alone probably contributed to 10,000 views so far, haha.

Beat that Gaga, eh I mean Bieber.

But then again, not everyone is crazy about Jason. Yupp, I was reminded of that once.

He's only for those who get it. Get it?

Heh :) JM - for the lovers, the dreamers ... and me.

There's No Love For Me No More.

'This is the anti-love song. It requires a lot of love to sing it'

So said the man.

Somehow this song fits perfectly in my playlist for balmy, grey rainy afternoons.

"She's a warrior"

Can I just say that apart from the Ootmarsum Garden Party, there are pretty awesome videos of Jason performing live on the Korean EBS?

Simple, from the heart performance. AWESOME. Is there a better word?

Just Jason and Toca; I think if I were in the audience, it would be one of those died-and-gone-to-Mraz-heaven moments.

When next in KL, J?

Weird J.

What do you make of this haunting song from J?

I think it's one of the weirdest yet. Is it about God? Death? Suicide? Darkness? Helplessness?

Even the lyrics are very dark.

Credit : Sowhatt on Youtube.

Who I am, we're told to toil at mouth
Now louder answer the firmest fist and kisses
Ask me again
How gameshow season never ends
The same old reason I won't win
Suspended in this animation
I could use a new vacation
Aimlessly the nameless and the faceless go to make up
Tell me I'm not spending too much time on happy endings
And my life does not rely on how much love you might be lending me
Above there's so much I'm depending on, remembering more instead
You send me door to door to have the family cat attack the strangers
back by popular demand, stand as you were
Before you saw your parting gift in stores
You poured your empty heart in it but finished what you started
When you practiced and rehearsed
To find that God before He finds first
In dirty words and poison dreams
like girls who flirt while boys are teens
You're only asking for one thing
It's never only make believe to me
Tell me I'm not spending too much time on happy endings
And my life does not rely on how much love you might be lending me
Above there's so much I'm depending on,
remembering more instead of war with me, myself and I;
I'm headed for the stranger in the sky
Resort in Paradise
Now louder answer the wish and kiss bids goodbye

Time For All The Wrong Reasons?

I am feeling so sleepy today.

And guess what song from Jason that I am drawn to? Yupp, Sleep All Day.

Found this from Youtube, thanks to AnaCostaCtx. Apparently taken from his album, A Jason Mraz Demonstration.

I am so used to the faster version this one sounds oh-so-mellow and Sunday-morning like. Love!

'...and they knew it was time, time to take a chance here
time to compromise our little lives for just a little while...'

You know, if I ever see Jason from afar I think I'll shout out to him, 'Hey love!'

That would be so AMrazing, no?

Come Drift Away With Me

Apart from Ootmarsum, another favourite 'series' on Youtube is from one darrenshimizu, who has put up videos of Jason performing live at MIX 106.5 FM. (San Francisco? I am not sure)

Thank you Darren, wherever you are. These videos are lovely and priceless. They help me to stay sane in times of severe bouts of Mraziositis.

Every time I listen to Jason perform live and acoustic, I drift away to Mrazlalalaland.

Yes. It exists :)

I listen to every layer, grit, patch, pitch, dulation in his voice, singing those beautifully written words, and wonder - where have you been all my life? And his expressions - every wrinkle crinkle scrunch of his face - reinforces the words even more and tugs the cockles of the heart.

Like someone wrote, his talent is an embarrassment of riches. A voice like no other.

"I remember everything you sang..."

When you're finally out of words - may that day never come.

Happy Monday morning and Happy November!

Mraz is Love,
A xoxo

More Words Than I've Ever Heard

Having a case of Mraziositis and thus am entertaining myself with the man's Ootmarsum performances.

Real men wear pink. And look good :)

Credit to : Ottowanabe.

I think I have never mentioned it before, but this is one song that can make me feel happy and sad at the same time. Melancholy.

Oh, maybe it's more accurate to say it makes me feel ... wabi-sabi?

"Well I'm almost almost finally out of words"

Can't Go For That ?

I think Jason should sing this more often.

He sounds out of breath a bit, but hey, he sings from the soul :) And I can almost imagine the way he crinkles his face and purses his lips...

Hall and Oates would be proud.

Love you, J!

Back.Still.Lucky.Glee.

Whoa!

No, don't write me off yet.

I'm still here :)

Still Mrazing. Still Mrazed. Just like the rest of you, I hope!

Anyway, the other night I caught a snippet of E! News showing an peek of a Glee Episode, where there's this new guy (exchange student?) was singing Lucky with Quinn? (*they sounded okay I guess. Not bad, not great either)

Mraz is Glee-fied now, which is a Good Thing, no?

But of course, there is no way anyone can sound better than the man himself :)

There is No Other.

Visions, But Only Illusions.

Mellowing with Mraz on a lazy Tuesday afternoon.

I'd LOVE to see him perform in such an intimate setting like this in Ootmarsum.

Some day we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

J in G

It is very very seldom (read : next to never) that Jason gets any column inches in our local newspaper.

I think I forgot to post this, so much for being his No. 1 fan :), but better late than never. This article was around the time he went to Ghana, so that's like... in June?

My cool dude, always awesome :)

p.s. Don't you just love that he posts quite frequently now? And I was 1st commenter for a few times. Okay I know I know there are no awards for that but just let me gloat for a bit ya?

Jason Goes to Nooo Yorrkk!

The headband/sweatband is soooo 70's!

But that's not to distract from the contents of the video. Jaymay has a really beautiful singing voice, can't find much on Jon Marro though.

Love love love that Jason runs! Just like me :) :) :) I told ya!

Will You Be My Superhero?

Some days you need a superhero.

Someone you can trust to take care of you.

Someone who will tell you every thing will be okay.

Someone who will assure you that you are safe.

Someone who understands.

You Are So Beautiful To Me

If you read his post today I was the first one to comment ! Wowser, and no I don't stalk him. This must be a good sign :)

Anyway, my dear J, this is what I wrote :

Your words remind me to (again) be grateful and thankful for a life that's more fortunate than many others.

Thank you, you are beautiful to me.

It Might Kill Me....or, Jason on SYTYCD

Last weekend I saw this briefly when Nigel (one of the SYTYCD judges) was talking about his Top 5 favourite dances for Season 5 (yes we are so wayyy back). This came No 2, if I'm not mistaken. The girl, Jeanine, went on to win the season.

I haven't listened to this song for quite some time, in all its heart wrenching glory.

Ripped At the Seams

This just in, seconds ago. Go read FF5000 :).

Bikini briefs indeed.

Eyjafjallajoekull

Jason will be in Hong Kong end of May!

He'll be taking part in Music Matters 2010.

"Jason's performance will feature an acoustic set and interview before an audience of over 700 music industry leaders from around the Globe"

Hmm, that sounds like it's a closed-door thing or you need to have some affiliations or some kind of eligibility to be able to attend. Seems like Jason is the only artiste so far listed as one of the speakers.

Hmm.

Oh come on J, is that the closest you can get to me?

Anyway, he's travelling right now, on the road again, by bus, train, van ... no flying still over Europe. Casablanca, that's where I want to be right now.

By the way, please remember the name of the volcano. It's Eyjafjallajoekull.

I have not heard any one pronounce it yet. It's too tongue-twisty, eh? Even I cut and pasted that so I don't mess up the spelling ;P

The Man with Non-Matching Slacks and Shoes

Don't you just love Jason's latest post?

My favourite ones are always those he writes on his travels. He's soooooo good with words! For you fortunate Earthlings who see him around (he's headed to London?) please youtube it and share with the rest of us, okay? Pretty please, thank you very much! Share the love!

Am waiting for my avocados to ripen in a few days and then am going to devour it yums. Maybe make a salad, a sandwich or just eat it plain and straight.

It's Like Taking A Guess, When the Only Answer Is ...

Pic : JM The Man. FF5000.

I wonder what kind of songs Jason will include in his new album.

I wonder if there is going to be another new shiny happy song.

I wonder if he's going to write another song that going to hit me in the face. Or nose.

I wonder if he'll have another tastefully sexy song a la Butterfly. (Viva Grooveline Horns!)

I wonder if he's going to have a wordvomit like D of V.

I wonder if he's going to write something 'green'.

I wonder if he's going to write something inspired by his past.

I wonder and wonder.

Don't Change At All

This is apparently one of Jason's new numbers.

Jazzier than usual. Nice easy listening, I can imagine warm sunny Sunday afternoons sipping iced lemon tea ...

Oh heck, any day with Jason's music is awesome to me.

It makes today feel like Friday! :)

Love love love.

The Dream Life of Rand Mc Nally - Who Is He?

This is super-awesome!

When I first heard this song many many moons ago I thought, Who is this Rand Mc Nally? Why is he so special? Why did Jason sing about him?

What's this about going to England and Spice Girls? Singapore? NYC, DC, Vegas, Diego?

So Google came to the rescue and NOW I know who / what Rand Mc Nally is.

Do you? :)

One Year Ago, Jason and I Breathed The Same Air

On this date, exactly one year ago I was giddy-ecstatic-rambling with excitement because I was going to see Jason live in concert in KL!

My very own short clip of him performing A Beautiful Mess, which I still keep in my mobile till today :)

Unforgettable.

Hey... Mr Curiosity?

Hey Mr. Curiosity
Is it true what they've been saying about you
Are you killing me?
You took care of the cat already
And for those who think it's heavy
Is it the truth
Or is it only gossip
Call it mystery or anything
Just as long as you'd call me
I sent the message on did you get it when I left it
See this catastrophic event
It wasn't meant to mean no harm
But to think there's nothing wrong is a problem.

We Sleep All Day

Please don't mind the video, because the audio is close to superb.

Okay. I close my eyes and pretend I am there now.

If anything, his songs explains a lot of things. Not the answer to the universe (which is 42), but things in my life. If this makes no sense to you it's okay.

February Fourteenth Five Thousand

Today Jason wrote :

"Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. In my opinion, people have attached themselves to this holiday in a way that makes single people sad, those in relationships nervous, and those in marriage pressured. No matter what your status, I invite you to give love in a powerful, new way this year.."

(*please read his whole message to help Haiti at FF5000)

Yeah. So V-Day comes every year and it's amusing to read how that one Day can make people sad, nervous and pressured.

Really? Maybe I sound cynical. Which is probably my intention :P Nah. You go ahead and have a great time in any manner you wish on that day. Never let your mind stop you from having a good time, remember? ;)

Anyway regardless of your status this coming February Fourteenth, have a wonderful day, sit back and enjoy some Mraz music, eat simple and scrumptiously and be happy!

Tik Tok

I can't believe that it was exactly 11 months ago when I went to his concert in KL.

At this time last year I was counting days and hours and wishing that time would hurry hurry up.

Mraziositis kicking in hard.

Happy Endings?

This song made me almost cry. The song, the voice, and how he sings it.

The subject matter though, makes me very curious. Hmmmm.....yes, I wonder if it is what I think it is. Haha that'll be so funny and should be rated 18 ;P

Lovely song anyway. He could've written about triple-ply, acid-free, earth-friendly toilet paper and it'll still be music to my ears :)

Oh this can't be embedded so click here for Colbie and Jason's Grammy acceptance speeches.

"It'll be a co-custody deal you know ..."

:) Trust J to be funny.

Jason Will Unplug Zermatt

It always makes me SMILE silly when I check my inbox and see an email from Jason Mraz.

Yes.

Imagine that. An email from my favourite farmer.

Well, 'he' emailed to basically inform that he'll be at Zermatt Unplugged on 17th April.

Zermatt. That's in landlocked, neutral-land called Switzerland.

Oh. That's. Like. So. Far.

So in Mraziotic times like these, I fervently hope and wish that someone will quickly upload loads of good stuff on Youtube for the benefit of far-flung fans like us.

*wish*

"And Things Are Gonna Happen Naturally.."

A Jason moment in Pavilion KL.

I was passing by this clothing shop and it was playing You and I Both so naturally I walked in and started humming and singing along and checking out the merchandise and stayed there until the song ended and walked out feeling so happy.

That absolutely made my day.

See, this is what they mean by the little things :)

More of my man goofing around at the Grammys (it's not an interview, he's just playing silly with Mr Mariah Carey). Oh the hair. It's ... so Costello. As is the suit. Still very lovely any way.

"..I Have No Idea What's Going On.."

Grammys or not, we love Jason!

LOS ANGELES -- Lamb of God and Trey Songz didn't get to bring home the gold, but Mechanicsville's Jason Mraz was a mini Grammy darling, claiming two of music's most prestigious prizes.

Mraz, who lives in San Diego, won his first-ever trophies for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Make it Mine" and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for "Lucky," his duet with Colbie Caillat, during the Grammy pre-show yesterday.

"We're elated," said Mraz's mom, June Tomes, who watched the pre-show online in Richmond. "To win both his categories, it's amazing. He's worked very hard."

Mraz, who was not present at the early portion of the show, attended the evening ceremony with his father, Tom, who also lives in Mechanicsville.

What is he wearing? And he didn't shave :) Aww and he brought his dad to the awards.

The awards were given out pre-telecast though. Dang.

Anyhoo, love ya Jason well done well done! Oh and Colbie too :)

Make It Mine Mine Mine !

As we say Hello to February, here's something that has grown on me over the past few weeks:

This 'series' of videos of Jason performing in the streets of Paris (?) is a must watch. Go indulge. It's all I'm doing to catch him live. I wonder if his tour schedule this year is out. Don't think it'll be too soon however, since he'll be working on his new album.

It'll be worth the wait.

One of Jason's bestest friends is Billy 'Bushwalla' Galewood, seen here freestylin' with Da Man in Amsterdam way back in 2007:

A fine, talented guy. They were roomies too back in San Diego. Fall Through Glass was awesome, as are their various other onstage antics found on Youtube.

Can You Hear Me, I'm Talking To You ...

Last night, while I was watching The Blind Side on my lap top and with my earphones, I glanced up to the TV and saw Jason singing. I think it was on hitz channel.

In a split second I recognised that this was the KL concert where he was wearing a cut off I love KL tee. He was singing Lucky, with that girl Penny something (who was late coming on to stage and was not impressive at all. duh). Then it cut off to Jason saying something like 'Hi I am Jason Mraz and you're watching hitz'.

Dang that means I missed the programme?

Jason when are you coming back?

Kickin With You!

Happy New Year! I hope it's not too late for that since I missed posting here before 2010 said hello :).

Anyway, have you seen the special JM Valentine's Day tee? I voted for the pink one. Too pricey to buy though :( anyways it's okay.

Got one brand new song from The Man, which is on the When In Rome soundtrack. Not sure what the movie is all about, most likely a rom-com and I recognise hunky Josh Duhamel. The girl, is she Kristen Bell or something like that? Will look out for the movie.

What do you think of his song then? Have a listen :
