....And My Words They Retreat, Building Histories Into Something Unknown

Just one of my favourite acoustic versions of Unfold:

from : BloEmPje, Cafe Dachkammer.

Jason having a blast at Glastonbury. Look at the crowd. Oh wow. I wish I was there.

Anyway, it's time to revive my dormant JM project soon :).

$ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $

Sometimes when my thoughts are stuck, I stop and think.
My thought process:

What would Jason do?

Does it really matter to me?

Would it matter to others?

and lastly, lately :

Do I care? How much?

So yeah. It's pretty sick that Jason comes into the picture in my thinking process.

Heh :)

"Go On, Build Your Mountain With Your Mind" - Why We Love Jason Mraz

Jason had a blast at Glastonbury.

Boo hoo. Only because I so want to see him perform live again! From his latest tour dates, it looks like there are no plans to be in Asia in the next few months.

Jason please come back to South East Asia soon because it's sunny and hot and happy here it's like summer all year long! (...okay, we do have our rainy days :P .. )

I've posted this video some months back, reposting it here. This would be my perfect, perfect Jason concert.

Here in this performance, Jason : talks to audience, knocks mike stand, cracks jokes, makes fun of Toca, scats, growls, snaps finger, gets jiggy, wiggles hips, sticks tongue out, holds a note, makes the peace sign, claps, asks audience to sing, gives signs to the band, is barefooted, has hat on, old tee, shares the love, blows a kiss (? sounded like it), dedicates song to Mom, and sings the song in a fresh, cheerful, original way.

It's so Jason.

That's why we love love love this man. That's why I always come back to this video when I need that push for the day. Yes, we can sleep all day, and we can build our mountains with our minds.

Everything is getting better, everything is bright..

I'm Waking Empty, but Seldom Sleeping

Am listening to Unfold.

I love love this song. But then again, I love all his songs! :)

I wish I can write beautiful lyrics and prose like he does.

I attempted a few words in the last few minutes and they suck. Heck. I'll leave the beautiful prose to you my dear J.

I saw you on TV again today. Love love love!

And another Jason moment at the supermarket :)

With Love and In Gratitude, Undivided

I simply must re-produce this from Jason's blog:

What Sleep?
Everyday a fly day
From a plane seat into promo into show
Into another late night made new.
Cases about, bag unpacked in a way that words fall out.
And then as it is, it is past 3am and
The Scandinavian nightshade is drawn loose.
The day is long and full of light.
The day is long and I am hardly full.
On this day, I am kept alive on love alone.
Seen often as the beauty that so many wonderful souls dare share,
A light cast in hoopshine as it spins around friends,
My community of Saturns.
A light not unlike moonglow
Seen from space as a safe and familiar place.
A soft spell cast from a montage of faces.
A light like hers radiates from parted lips.
Though I have not witnessed its welcome dip in more than a month
She is burned into my mind
Better than any shape or song I could memorize.
What light!

Fondness rode the swings over Tivoli and I was elated
Sincerity slipped another sunrise into watery eyes
Train stations spit citizens back onto the streets
And I am still not asleep.

Life has my attention
Undivided.

Simply beautiful.

Lucky I'm In Love with My Best Friend ..

An opportunity to learn Spanish !

Do you hear me? I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky oh my, baby I'm trying

Se que quiero cuando te vas
supe desde tiempo atras,
es que mi corazon no sabe
queres hasta volverte a ver

Suerte que despierto junto a ti,
Suerte que senti lo que senti
suerte que regresas para mi

Uhhhh Uhhhhh Uhhhhhh
Nadie tiene la razon
de que exista el amor
solo hay un tu y yo
la promesas de los dos
me esperaras, aqui estare
lo seeeeeeee

Suerte que despierto junto a ti,
Suerte que senti lo que senti
suerte que regresas para mi

Suerte que hay mas para conocer
Suerte que contigo crecere
Suerte que te tengo al volver

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music, feel the air
I put a flower in your hair

Todo tiene final feliz
desde que te conoci
no hay mas que las ganas
de estar y volver a empezar

Suerte que despierto junto a ti,
Suerte que senti lo que senti
suerte que regresas para mi

Suerte que hay mas para conocer
Suerte que contigo crecere
Suerte que te tengo al volver

..The One That Tells You To Taste Past The Tip of Your Tongue..

I had three Jason moments today - perfect eh? :)

#1 : I'm Yours playing in the supermarket as I was in the vegetable aisle.

#2 : I'm Yours playing on the radio in the car on the way back.

#3 : Jason special 'documentary' on nTv7 this afternoon.

Aspects of Life Confuse Me, You and Your Thesis Amuse Me...

You know one thing that will really make my day, anytime?

An unexpected Jason encounter moment. Or I just call it 'a Jason moment'.

Like, when I was in the Times bookstore in KL Pavilion last May, in the member's lounge flipping through some books and magazines; softly in the background, they were playing A Beautiful Mess. The moment when I realised that, I smiled like a chimp. Smile slowly expanded to a wide grin, like a chump. And I'm thrown off balance for a few moments in time, enjoying the beauty of the song.

Let me see, what other Jason moments can I recall?

Having lunch in a cafe in Sandakan, and someone's handphone rang with I'm Yours as the ringtone. That made me chuckle and grin :)

Was walking into a convenience store and the radio was playing The Remedy.

Passing by Kimanis and saw the sign for a Restarea by the side of the road.

Was reading the newspaper and seeing the initials JM immediately thought of the man.

When reading anything and seeing the name Jason, automatically thinks of the man :).

Seeing a gnome, thought of JM and Toca Riviera.com

Buying an avocado :)

Dang, I should've documented all those moments so I can remember them.

What's your Jason moment? Did he make you smile? I bet :)

I Tried To Be Chill But You're So Hot That I Melted ..

More on I'm Yours.

I think I started enjoying that song very much around April-May 2008. It wasn't getting that much of airplay yet at that time. I hadn't even seen the video in its entirety.

I later sent an mp3 version to a good friend, introducing it as the perfect song for a lazy day at the beach, feet up, good book and a cold beer in hand.

He since has it as one of his ringtones.

I'd like to think that this was is our friendship song :). A song he will remember me by until whenever. Perfect.

The song still makes me smile, one year later. No diminishing returns.

Mraz for Beginners - Lesson 1

You Don't Know Me But I Know You..

Friday's here!

After a few days of listening to varied music out there, today it's back to my old Jason collection. You're my favourite star, truly bright you are.
"Who Needs Shelter"
Good day sunlight
I'd like to say how truly bright you are
You don't know me but I know you
You're my favorite star
Follow you I will
So lets get moving

Who needs shelter when the morning's coming?
Absolutely there's no one
Who needs shelter from the sun?
Not me, no
Not anyone

By your clock the cock rooster crows
Then off to work where everybody goes
Slow, But eventually they get there
Picking up the day shift back where all left off
Confined and pecking at relationships
You know it's only a worthless piece of shit

Who needs shelter when the morning's coming?
Absolutely there's no one
Who needs shelter from the sun?
Not me, no
Not anyone

I'd sleep it all away but the sun won't let me
I'd miss those lovely days of summer

Good day sunlight
I'd like to say how truly bright you are
You don't know me but I know you
You're my favorite

Then They Remember the Part in the Hallmark Card...

The man is on a roll. Another post today? Way to go, Solar Boy.

:)

I was wondering, which Mraz song would be the perfect summer song. Hmm. I'm Yours would win hands down, I guess. I still stop and watch it everytime it's played on TV. And sing it everytime it's on the radio. No one minds. Or at least no one dares to change the channel or the station :)

Other songs : Sleep All Day is a good one. I'll Do Anything is also good. The Remedy (I see fireworks on the freeway!). Wordplay?

Anyway, his songs are for all seasons so I need not crack my head over this.

Oh What A Lovely Day to Have A Slice of Humble Pie...

I wrote to a friend yesterday and jokingly bragged that Jason and I are on speed dial. So I pretty much know what he's up to. Haha. That's my wish.

Well, guess what. It gets better. Much, much better than being on speed dial.

I think, me and J; we're telepathic.

YES. Stop laughing and pick yourself up from the floor now.

In my main blog I wrote about my wall of fame for excellent service providers. And what does Jason write about today? Go read.

Hah, you see what I mean?

Anyway I'm going to ask him to come back to Malaysia everytime I comment on his blog. That's sort of my petition strategy. I love it that he's posting quite a bit now; it makes my mornings sunnier and happier!

And It Was Time For All The Wrong, And Lonely Lonesome Reasons...

I am still laughing after reading Jason's latest post this morning.

Oh, you can be my boogieman, my pebble, my ripple, anytime J :)

Drop a pebble in a lake and eventually the ripples go beyond what you’re capable of seeing. If you can touch, move, or inspire just one person in your lifetime, it will have a powerful impact on the world.

Live knowing that your extraordinary actions will still be resonating across that lake for 7 generations and then some.
- JM

He mentions his summer tour a lot. Gah. I wish he will come back to this part of the world. I think I can manage if he comes to KL, Singapore, even Jakarta! I want to go, I will go! Never mind if no one else is as enthusiastic. Or crazy. It's gonna be oh so worth it.

No news either whether he's gonna be back for SingFest this year. I feel like I should start a petition to have him come back to KL. I am realistic enough to admit that he's not going to hold a concert in KK, okay.

Mad About the Boy.

Of Intrails and Exits

Today has been kind of weird.

Because on one of the blogs I usually read, the author wrote about our relationship with food. Which led me to read other related stuff and got this bottom-line, basically one that every one knows by now : you are what you eat. Simple, eh?

Not really. Cos the process doesn't stop there. What happens after you eat is equally important.

And today Jungle Jason has to write about our No. 2, Big Business, Investment, and various other phrases and words we have to describe our daily crap. Ha ha.

He was 'being really anal' and wrote :

Save toilet paper!
8 squares! (to be precise)
Use single ply!
Use both sides!
Use water!
Use a leaf!

* okay, the exclamation marks are mine :P

My favourite line has to be the one with the intrails and exits. Simply put - efficient intrails result in smooth exits.

That's what a whole load of bananas can do :)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  * * * * * *

Anyhow, on a more serious note, I am rethinking my relationship with food. Seriously.

"It's the Fault of Faulty Manufacturing.."

Men wearing hats are considered 'in-style' now.

In an online BBC news article shared in FB, they mentioned some public figures who don hats as part of their attire. Hugh Jackman has been named celebrity hat wearer of the year. Er, I don't recall a picture of him wearing a hat.

Jason wasn't mentioned. WTH. Neither was Indiana Jones (okay, so he's a fictional character).

I know J wears them so he doesn't have to bother about his hair. I am a bit confused though on the style of the hat he usually wears nowadays (like the one in the I'm Yours video)

Is that a fedora; a straw fedora? A coconut fedora? What's a trilby, then?

I remember seeing a girl at the departure lounge of Sandakan airport, and she was wearing this fedora-like hat and she even looked like Colbie with her nice cotton dress! I am embarrassed to admit that I took a picture discreetly, as she sat in front of me.

Anyhow, maybe I'll get one for myself some time in the future, if it fits my funny shaped head and I don't look too silly :)
